Budget responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety spend.

Manages Environmental, Health and Safety requirements for Amphenol LTD

Purpose of the role

To ensure the organisation is compliant with all current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation.  To work at all levels of the business to drive a culture of EHS best practice across the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities

 

Design, develop, implement and oversee the organisations EHS programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.

 

Co-ordinate and lead, where appropriate, site sustainability activities monitoring progress and maintaining the site sustainability score, in line with corporate guidelines.

 

Develop, maintain and report on auditable EHS plant metrics.  Including but not limited to; Near Misses, RIDDOR, etc.

 

Ensure all facilities are compliant with current EHS regulatory guidelines.

 

Develop the culture of Health and safety across all areas and functions of the business, delivering high levels of EH&S engagement and participation.

 

Administer/conduct Risk Assessments as required whether for statutory purposes, meeting approved codes of practice or company policy, ensuring any remedial actions are completed.

Complete site EHS inductions for new employees and sub-contractors as appropriate.

 

Chair monthly EHS meetings, writing up and distributing minutes.

Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Health and Safety responsibilities

Take reasonable care for health, safety and the environment and others who may be affected by work activities, as well as co-operate on health and safety issues with Amphenol.

Ensure that all employees, contractors and visitors comply with Amphenol Ltd’s Health & Safety Policy use Health and Safety equipment provided.

Business responsibilities

Ensure relevant Work Instructions are followed as identified in the Quality Systems Manual.

Ensure compliance with all Company Policies.

Ensure sufficient coverage for holiday, sickness or unexpected absence.

 

Person Specification

Qualifications

 

·       Relevant Qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health.  Ideally NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.

 

Experience

 

·       Experience in an EHS Management role

·       Experience working in an engineering biased environment

 

Technical Knowledge

 

·       Hazardous Waste Management

·       Hazardous Materials Safety

·       Completion of post incident analysis

·       Corrective Action Reporting

 

Skills and Competencies

 

·       Excellent communication skills.  Able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

·       Self-starter able to prioritise effectively and work well on own initiative.

·       Driven to continuously improve current practice.

·       Professionalism in attitude, conduct and communication.

·       Excellent IT Skills

·       Able to analyse and interpret data

·       Experienced in producing EHS reports for use at all levels of the business
