Purpose of the role

To ensure that quality testing and inspections are carried out at all times, to meet the standards set out by the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities

General and task management:

-         Inspection of incoming parts and documentation based on the relevant organization QMS procedures

-         Populate inspection reports with inspection and measurement results

-         Updates and maintains the Ship to Stock database

-         Escalate non-conformance through the VRN's and SCAR's process when required for SQE to review and process

-         Recommend and where agreed, implements improvements to CMM programs

-         Provides support for all testing and inspection activities upon request

-         Ensures that all documentations are completed and stored as per the relevant organization QMS procedures

-         Provides support for FAIR activities by creating measurement reports using the FAIR template and following the relevant organization QMS procedures


Relationship Management:

-         Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

-         Liaise and communicate with other departments as needed to achieve an efficient working culture

-         Diplomatic approach to relationships

-         Communicate efficiently throughout the shop floor and with other colleagues

Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Health and Safety responsibilities

Take reasonable care for health, safety and the environment and others who may be affected by work activities, as well as co-operate on health and safety issues with Martec.


Ensure that all employees, contractors and visitors comply with Martec’s Health & Safety Policy use Health and Safety equipment provided.

Business responsibilities

Required to follow the Work Instructions as identified in the Quality Systems Manual.

Person Specification




·         Experience in a similar role

·         Experience working within a quality assurance production environment

 Technical Knowledge

·         Ability to interpret drawings and technical documents

·         Microsoft Office packages


 Skills and Competencies

·         Fast learner with a flexible creative mindset

·         Ability to work in a fast paced diverse and dynamic environment under pressure

·         Good personal and interpersonal communication skills

·         Good report writing skills

·         Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferable Aerospace

·         Working experience of the following quality tools: 8D, 5WHY, Fishbone diagrams

·         Working experience with creating ISIR and FAIR inspections


Technical Knowledge

·         Working knowledge of ISO9001

·         Knowledge of measurement techniques and inspection machines

·         Strong ability to interpret drawings and technical documents

·         Microsoft Access / Visio
