£10.42 per hour + £500 welcome bonus*

Wyvern Lodge is a mental health recovery pathway service located in Weston Super Mare. This Milestones Trust service provides 24 hour support to up to 8 people within a residential setting.

The team provide person centred support to enable individuals to work towards goals and achieve outcomes, which in turn helps the people we support to rebuild living skills, resilience, confidence, relationships, inclusion and independence.

We are seeking to appoint an individual to work in a Support Worker role within our recovery mental health service.

This role involves working with Recovery and Person Centred Values, Team Working Skills, Effective Communication and Self Development.

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
  • To encourage and enable the people we support to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health
  • To support them to develop relationships and/or to maintain contact with family and friends
  • Providing them with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social and life skills 
  • Possessing a caring manner and a tolerant nature and the ability to work proactively, together with the team
  • Take part in the training and development schedule provided by Milestones Trust and undertake medication competency training, as needed in the role
The successful Support Worker will:
  • Possess strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, service users and a range of stakeholders
  • Be flexible, as the role involves shift work, including weekends and waking nights and the requirement to lone work, while also supporting people to meet their goals and aspirations in the community setting   

To be a driver is essential for this role.
