Full and Part Time Hours Considered
Have the events of the last 18 months made you re-evaluate what’s important to you? Are you looking for a new opportunity, where you can help make a positive difference in someone’s life, while gaining satisfaction from your work?
The Chestnuts provides support to six very different individuals who, on occasions, can find life challenging. The service has three very distinct living areas to its layout and you will be working in Meadow View, providing support to 4 gentlemen who share this area of the home.
The gentlemen we support at The Chestnuts are involved in the running of the home, deciding where, when and what they eat, what they like to do each day and how to decorate their home. You would support each individual on a 1:1 basis.
Depending on who you are supporting, they may be non-verbal so creativity and the ability to anticipate are essential for organising activities to engage and stimulate them and some of the things they enjoy include puzzles and games and going for drives. If you’re a keen cook, perhaps a live cooking demonstration, as they love their food!
As a Support Worker, you will support the gentlemen in a person-centred and individualised way; helping and encouraging them to participate in activities and to keep in contact with family and be part of the local community. Please note; to be a driver and able to drive the service vehicle is a requirement of this role.
Flexibility is essential. Shift times are 07:00-14:30, 14:00-21:30 and may include waking nights. Long days can be considered.
In return we offer excellent, high quality learning opportunities, including the opportunity to undertake a level 3 or 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Alongside this, other benefits include:
- 30 days Annual Leave Entitlement
- Access to an Employee Discount Platform from Day 1, with discounts and cash back for hundreds of retailers.
- Refer a Friend Scheme earning you up to £750
- Company Pension
- Job Satisfaction
- Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
- Learning and development opportunities for you to build your career
- Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. Dental, Therapies, Optical, Maternity/Paternity, NHS Prescriptions etc
We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within Milestones Trust.
