At Mortimer House we have a large, dedicated staff team who are well regarded and commended by relatives, who trust the team to ensure their loved one is well looked after.

 

The home is a busy and fast-paced environment where we support 13 people with Learning Disabilities, Dementia and Sensory Impairments and people with complex needs in regards to eating and drinking, mobility and emotional wellbeing. Our residents are supported to lead the care they receive and live as independently as possible.

 

As a Support Worker you will provide service users with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and work closely with external teams to ensure people are receiving safe and effective care.

 

You will enable the people we support to develop and maintain social and life skills, relationships with family and friends and access various activities and services, both in the community and in the home. Activities include visiting the local shops and cafes and film evenings, quizzes, aromatherapy and reflexology.

 

The successful Support Worker will be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including some nights and weekends. You will have great communication skills, with the ability to communicate with team members, service users and a range of stakeholders. While experience in the sector would be desirable, it is not essential, as we will provide you with the training required to carry out your duties.
