Finance Transformation Lead

We are looking for a Finance Transformation Lead to be embedded within the Finance department as part of our Planning & Governance function. This function provides enterprise-wide oversight of Parkdean Resorts’ transformation plan, delivery teams (programme/project management and business analysis), change management and PMO.

This role will face directly into the Finance department and, day-to-day, will be working alongside the Group Finance Director and Finance leadership team to drive transformation of the function to support the group’s strategy. The role will have a dotted reporting line directly to the Group Finance Director.

Inspired by Parkdean’s updated strategy and record trading performance, we are redefining our vision for “Parkdean Resorts Finance of the Future” under the leadership of our recently appointed Group Finance Director. As part of Parkdean Resorts’ wider transformation, Finance must implement business, cultural, technical and process changes to become market leading, improve effectiveness and strengthen employee engagement and development. The whole team will be involved in setting this agenda, but the Transformation Lead will sit at its heart, defining and co-ordinating work across teams and with other functions. We are looking for a confident, energetic, resilient individual to help drive this vision.

What day-to-day looks like

  • Work with the Group Finance Director to define and implement the Parkdean Finance of the Future vision, involving significant cultural change and transformation – an exciting and challenging time.
  • Informed by the wider Parkdean transformation agenda, understand, prioritise and co-ordinate the Finance department’s projects and initiatives.
  • Translate these priorities into delivery projects, which may include development of business cases and forming delivery teams to turn visions into practical deliverables.
  • Use local initiative framework to help the finance team run small and tactical projects in-house using basic project techniques, to ensure alignment to the emerging Finance vision and adherence to a clear timeline, budget and quality standands. Oversee larger projects and programmes, following the enterprise PMO project delivery framework, decision-making governance and quality stage gates. This may include some hands-on delivery within the role and may include the leadership of temporary project teams and subject matter experts.
  • Understand the downstream impacts on Finance from other transformation activity taking place across the business (such as Retail and IT) ensuring that, Finance are engaged at the right time and at the right level, to provide early visibility of potential impacts.
  • Assume a partnering role with other business areas becoming the bridge between Finance and other areas on projects and transformation.
  • Budget management of projects, tracking actuals against forecast and identifying budget risks and opportunities.
  • Work with Change Management to ensure any Finance projects that impact people have a suitable change and business readiness plan.
  • Manage and report to the enterprise PMO on all inflight Finance projects. This will include budget performance, risk and issue management and dependencies.

Person Profile & Skills Required

  • Strong organisation and planning skills – the ability to oversee and coordinate multiple Finance project priorities whilst understanding downstream impacts on the function from other business areas.
  • Experience delivering or overseeing transformation and change projects within a Finance function.
  • Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills, with a practical, delivery focused attitude, the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders, team members at all levels and third parties (including suppliers).
  • Alongside the Group Finance Director and Senior Finance team, support development of functional resilience in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. Embrace a maturing environment and bring solutions to challenges drawing from your experience.
  • Project, Programme and Portfolio Management qualifications such as Prince2, Agile, Managing successful Programmes.
  • Background in finance, with a formal accountancy qualification strongly preferred; ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
