Senior Ecommerce Trading Manager

About the role:


This is a key role in the Ecommerce team, ensuring all digital activities supporting processes are followed and delivered appropriately according to the relevant critical paths. A multidisciplinary role, the Ecommerce Trading Manager also plays an important role in the continuous development of the platform and the products sold on it.

Your role as the Ecommerce Trading Manager will be to support the Head of Ecommerce in delivering the online sales targets - optimising the promotional and conversion opportunities. You will also look after a couple of the more emerging members of the team as direct reports.


Your day-to-day duties will be:

•Accountability for driving ecommerce sales and development of ongoing trading and promotional strategy. You will be responsible for the sale of products and optimising the customer journey to improve conversion rates and online KPI’s

•Accountable for managing the day to day trading and execution of website

•Management and reporting of daily/weekly/monthly/annual trade, providing detailed analysis of key business drivers and producing actions plans to ensure sales and contribution targets are met

•Utilise available resources, analysing seasonal sales patterns to maintain commercial awareness, understanding of key competitors and customer behaviour

•Collaborate with key stake holders to plan ecommerce trading calendar, lead the delivery and reporting of all on-site promotions and content activity

•Contributing to development/UX roadmaps

•Accountable for optimisation of site navigation, customer journey and product placement to maintain growth and drive online sales

•Work with digital marketing team to ensure product & trading strategies are supported by the digital marketing strategy for all channels

•Weekly reporting with your team members on website performance and strategy

•Working closely with the revenue and marketing teams to formulate plans and bring them to life

•Collaboration with the wider business through meetings and updates on all things web trading

Experience needed:

•Online/ Ecommerce/ Web Trading experience

•Agile development knowledge

•CMS development experience

•Ideally management experience

•Strong commercial acumen

•Highly organised and driven

•Experience in working with web analytics (e.g. Google)

•Great communicator/ team player
